Planet Life

A long, long time ago (2018 to be precise) talented West Country illustrator, Steve Evans, produced a piece of art for the University of Plymouth prospectus cover for that year. It highlighted some of the outstanding features of the city and the part the University played in it.

The original illustration was updated with extra detail and landmarks added. He approached local Kaya Gallery know as the 'People's Gallery' on the Barbican to sell his prints. Owners Chris and Di were delighted to add the prints to their wonderful collection of art.

On seeing the artwork a local Locksmith asked Steve if he could produce a bespoke version for his company, which would include the owner, family and him flying a paramotor.

It was such a success that people asked him if they could have a print for themselves and thus Planet Life was born. To date over 35 bespoke Planet plymouth's have been produced.

To continue the series, Steve turned his thoughts to Penzance, the market town and port at the end of the country, famous for pirates and the last stop on the Great Western Railway.

In June 2021 Steve launched Planet St Ives to coincide with the G7 Summit putting Cornwall centre stage on the world map.

The planet artworks are created from highly detailed vector drawings which can be personalised hence the G7 special edition with Boris and Joe and all the other leaders of the G7 countries enjoying a trip to Godrevy Lighthouse.

We're looking forward to bringing you further towns and cities as they're created and expanding the range to include other products too so make sure to sign up to the newsletter for further information and drop us a line to enquire about personalisation.
